Upgrading Lightbox to 2.5
As Osamwal suggested, I upgraded my lightbox plugin to the latest version. Too bad it didn’t work out: still, a few glitches. I tested the page in a few browsers now:
- Ubuntu 7.10 X86_64 with Firefox 2.0.0.11
- OS-X 10.5 with Firefox 2.0.0.11 and with Safari 3
- Windows XP with Firefox 2.0.0.11 and Internet Explorer 7.
Didn’t like the results.
On Ubuntu, the Flash dissapeared after a mouse-over. While I first thought it had to do with some crappy coding (of mine, ofcourse), I later discovered some YouTube video’s won’t pley either. So it’s probably not my bad
.
On OS-X in Firefox, it all worked pretty good. Didn’t notice anything weird, until Osamwal told me to upgrade. Then, I used Safari and I noticed that the Flash player wasn’t hidden.
Finally I looked at my Windows box (already after upgrading the Lightbox plugin) and saw the same issues as at my other machines.
I think the solution is simple: to use ‘em all in Wordpress, I should create one plugin that handles ‘em all at once. Maybe the Flash can be hidden when the Lightbox is shown, maybe it can be given a lower z-index. I’ll just have to look.

Hi Osamwal,
thanks for your reply. Still, even on your site, it’s not working properly. Take a look at the screenshot. I didn’t notice on OS-X, but on the 64bit Ubuntu with Firefox 2.0.0.11 it’s disappearing after a couple of seconds. Still, I blame it on the Flash plugin…
