Trading Vista for XP
A friend of mine recently got stuck on the Vista problem: he’d bought a laptop for his parents but they couldn’t get used to Windows Vista. So, he decided to install Windows XP. Guess what: XP couldn’t install because it could not find the harddisk. The solution was fairly easy. Although Vista might not be perfect, the installer has finally added support for SATA disks! Since XP doesn’t support SATA natively and the newer laptops get produced using SATA, this creates a problem. The solution was:
In the BIOS, change the Disk Mode from S-ATA to IDE. That’s it!
Seen on newer models Dell, Acer, Asus , HP.
