Installing DIG on the EEE pc

I wanted to install ‘dig’ on my EEE. Here’s a quick howto.

  1. Start by adding the Debian repositories to your sources: Open Synaptic. Click Settings, then Repositories. In the URI box, put http://http.us.debian.org/debian/. In the Distribution box, put etch. In the Section:s box put main contrib non-free. Click OK, the the Reload button. (source). For more information about this, read the wiki. Pay attention to the part about pinning your system!
  2. Install dig by installing dnsutils and its associated packages (source). Accept the suggested changes and you’re done!
